All Weather Ventilator

Sunspaces, by definition, get hot from the sun. In the winter, that's ideal. In the summer, it can be unbearably uncomfortable. The TC1000 was designed specifically to exhaust the heat from sunrooms and solariums.
Although it has done other jobs over the years, sunrooms
are the heart of its applications. The TC1000 was preceded by the TC200 back in the mid 1980’s. Over the years, thousands of these fans have been installed in sunrooms and solariums across the country
and around the world. There are TC1000’s in solariums in Hong Kong, Mexico, Russia, Switzerland and all over the U.S.A.
Extend the comfort season of your sunroom without an HVAC system!
Even if the building code says that you cannot heat or cool a sunroom, you can ventilate it. Employing an HVAC system to
condition the air in the sunroom would increase its year ‘round comfort to a level where it could be considered a normal living space. As such, it would have to comply with all of the other building
codes including a limited amount of glass. But exhaust fan can use the temperature differential between the inside and the outside to greatly improve the conditions in the space and
"lengthen" the season. |

The TC1000-T, the only American made ventilation system designed for sunspaces, is designed for clean, simple, standardized installation. It
is engineered to slip into all of the major sunspace manufacturers glazing systems.
The
remarkably versatile TC1000-H fits in flat roof, solid roof and sidewall applications for
whole house cooling where interior attic installation is impossible.
When the TC1000 is turned on, the lifting motor pushes the unique, internal, insulated damper up out of the way, and two super quiet fans begin
positively venting the space. The fan features a motorized and insulated closure system which pulls down tightly over the fan openings when it is turned off, preventing cold air, rain, snow and insects from entering. A positive seal of 1/2 inch of foam covers the fan openings, blocking drafts and
preventing heat loss. The positive, powered ventilation moves up to 800 cubic feet of air per minute. The internal thermostat, factory set to
approximately 90ºF, allows for automatic, high/low speed control. When the temperature in the room rises to this point, the fans will automatically
shift speed from low to high.
No other fan system gives you as tight a seal, as much insulation and as much control as the TC1000.

| Comfort is our concern. All to often people see a glorious sunroom in a home and garden
magazine and just want it without thinking about how difficult it is to keep these spaces comfortable. They forget that these rooms were initially designed as "Florida Rooms" or "Hot Houses"
where overheating during the day and freezing during the night was the accepted norm. Systems have come a very long way in the past 25 years. Glass and glazing systems have become much
more sophisticated since the single-glazed, lapped glass rooms of the first half of last century. But a room that is primarily made of glass is still going to have much greater temperature
swings than a similar room made with insulated walls and ceiling. Sunrooms are designed to get hot from the sun, accepting the sun's energy and converting it to heat. In winter, in a
northern climate, this solar gain makes the room more comfortable. But that same room can become intolerable in the summer. Good design can minimize the negative solar impact. |

TC1000-H
The TC1000-H looks and acts like the TC1000-T. The TC1000-H is a modified TC1000-T, that operates on a single speed (high at 800 cfm) and is
used in solid roof or sidewall
applications for whole house cooling where interior attic installation is impossible. The TC1000-H is an
roof mounted attic/whole house fan. The TC1000H is installed in a solid
roof with plenty of flange area for flashing it into place. The unit can
be installed horizontally or vertically and can be spaced out to the ceiling
below with a “thimble”. A return air grille finishes the product off.
The TC1000-hH quietly moves 800 cfm and includes and insulated,
motorized damper mounted under the external hood to seal the unit off from
inclement weather. |

Options
Operation
The TC1000-T includes a wall mounted thermostat for operation.
The TC1000-H includes a SPDT on/off switch.
If the TC1000-T is installed in an enclosure with a spa, hot tub
or pool, a humidistat as well as a thermostat must be installed.
If two or more units are to be used together, controlled by the same device, each TC1000-T must contain a factory installed relay to isolate one unit from the
other(s). Order our part# RK-TCRelay.

Grille
A grille is not needed for sunroom applications. It is recommended for most solid roof applications using the TC1000-H. Order our part# 900-23014W10
for horizontal mounting or 900-21430W10 for vertical mounting.
Installation Tips
for the TC1000-H
When the fan is installed in a solid roof, it should be ordered with a 1/4" thick flange. We can also supply a "thimble", a piece of metal that is pushed up into the unit from the room
side. The thimble finishes the air passage from the living space to the fan and protects the insulation from any moisture. Tamarack stocks thimbles in several sizes.
Please contact us for sizing and pricing information.
If the fan is mounted in a wall system, some extra attention should be paid to weeping the water over the hood of the fan. This can be done by the addition of an extra piece of
flashing or a room overhang.
When the fan is installed in a glazing system, the flange size should match the glass size. If the glass is 7/8" thick, for example, the flange can be made 7/8" to match.
